IC design house MediaTek’s new flagship cockpit chip Dimensity Cockpit S1 Ultra has been unveiled. It is built with a 3-nanometer process. China Changan Automobile Group’s dark blue L06 is the first smart coupe equipped with Dimensity Cockpit S1 Ultra.
MediaTek said in a press release today that the Dimensity Cockpit S1 Ultra central processor adopts a full core architecture and has 280K DMIPS computing power, enabling breakthroughs in the smart experience of smart cockpits. Dimensity Cockpit S1 Ultra is equipped with a hardware-level ray-tracing graphics processor (GPU) with 4,000GFLOPS graphics computing power, bringing a new experience in in-car entertainment and smart applications.
The Neural Processing Unit (NPU) of the Dimensity Cockpit S1 Ultra supports end-side generative artificial intelligence (AI), with a computing power of 53TOPS, empowering the innovation acceleration of smart cockpit applications, and helping automakers create a comprehensively upgraded smart cockpit experience for users. Integrating Armv9 architecture, built-in high-performance AI computing unit and lightweight generative AI engine, it not only meets the accuracy requirements of AI computing, but also efficiently utilizes memory bandwidth and capacity to help accelerate the implementation of terminal-side multi-modal large models into smart cockpits.
Dimensity Cockpit S1 Ultra supports a 13 billion-parameter AI large language model, which can execute a variety of mainstream large language models and generative AI applications such as AI drawing functions, and implement advanced AI safety and entertainment applications such as 3D graphical interface voice assistant, multi-screen interaction, and driving alertness monitoring, making smart travel safer, faster response and lower latency.
MediaTek pointed out that the Deep Blue L06 is positioned as a "long-endurance magnetorheological laser smart coupe" and is the first smart coupe equipped with the Dimensity Cockpit S1 Ultra chip.
