How to clean a yellowed pillow?

How to clean yellowed pillows?

I wonder if you have noticed that no matter how much most pillows are washed, the color in the middle is always yellower than both sides. The most common reason for the pillow to turn yellow is sweat. When you enter sleep, your body is in a state of sweating to maintain a comfortable temperature. Because of the fibers made of the pillow, sweat can penetrate through the fibers. When the sweat dry, yellow sweat stains will remain. Even if you use a pillow cover to cover the pillow core, there will still be yellow stains.

In the past, every time the yellow stains were very serious, I would throw away the pillow and buy a new one. But I don't like this because the pillow itself is still good. I recently read an article "The pillows need to be washed at least twice a year" and I hope I am not the only one I don't know. The pillows I washed before were all splashed on it because something was splashing on it.

Because I encountered many minor problems during the cleaning process, I also sorted out some experiences. Here are some tips for washing your pillows.

Very, very hot water, a measuring cup of detergent. A measuring cup of dishwasher washing powder. A measuring cup of bleach (if you don’t like chlorine bleach, you can use natural bleach instead). 1/2 cup of borax. This way the washing process will be not only simple but also very interesting.

How to wash the pillow:

First check the pillow's washing label (down or synthetic material) to see if it can be machine-washed. Generally, it is OK; remove the pillowcase, pillowcase, etc.; add the water from the washing machine to 1/3 full position, and use hot water (I usually add two boiling water from a frying pan); after adding the detergent listed above, start the washing machine and vibrate for a while to ensure that all the detergents are fully dissolved.

When the detergent dissolves, put in the pillow and fill the remaining part of the washing machine bucket with hot water. I usually wash two pillows at a time, which will help the washing bucket balance when it rotates.

After stirring for a few minutes, turn off the washing machine, and turn over the pillow so that the upper part can also be in full contact with the hot water. Stir for a few more minutes. Turn the washing machine to second gear and rinse it or automatically gear twice.

How to dry the pillow If the core of the pillow is down or feathered, use air conditioner to dry; if it is synthetic, use a low-heat setting.

Put the pillow into the drying bucket, add a few tennis balls with clean socks or homemade drying balls into the drying bucket to make the pillow dry thoroughly. (If it is a sunny day, it is recommended to take it in the sun).
