According to the "Daily Mail" report, before tonight's Champions League match against Ajax at home, Chelsea added 33 new young players to the Champions League roster submitted to UEFA, including 8 16-year-old youth training students.
The additions to this B list include 16-year-old Isago, son of Thiago Silva, 17-year-old son of Michael Emenalo, Landon, and many potential new stars from the Cobham Youth Academy, such as Ryan Kakuma-McQueen, Ibrahim Labaj and Shim Mheka.
According to the rules, the club can add an unlimited number of players to the B list one day before the game, as long as they are born after January 1, 2004 and meet other qualification requirements.
It has not yet been determined which young players will eventually be included in the official roster for the match against Ajax.
"Daily Mail Sports" learned that Chelsea's large-scale registration of youth training players may be to avoid the cumbersome process of submitting one by one before subsequent games. Through this move, coach Maresca will have a larger pool of young talents to call upon when he needs to fill vacancies on the bench in the future.
Chelsea lost to Bayern Munich 1-3 in the first game of the Champions League and defeated Benfica coached by Mourinho 1-0 in the second round.
