Sky Sports reported that if Yorke eventually joins Arsenal, his former club Coventry is expected to receive a considerable transfer share.
It is reported that when Coventry sold Yorkles before, it retained a 10% share of resale. When Portugal Sports signed Yorke from Coventry in July 2023, this 10% share applies to any profit portion of their earnings of over £21 million in the deal.
Therefore, if the final amount reaches about £64 million with the additional clause as expected, Coventry will receive about £4.3 million.
Brighton will also receive a small portion of the payment from it, as part of their agreement with Coventry over the sale of Jucres in the summer of 2021.
Coventry's original share of resale was 15%, but they sold 5% of it to Portugal Sports last summer, and the specific amount was not disclosed.
