At 2:45 am on September 10, Norway played against Moldova at home in the European group stage of the World Cup qualifiers. Before the game, Norwegian coach Solbaken accepted an interview with Norwegian broadcaster NRK. During the interview, he talked about Haaland's injury.

Solbaken said: "We should be glad that the final result was pretty good, because it might actually be bad. Haaland stitched a few stitches, stopped the blood, and even went to the dentist. But there is no need to worry about participating in the game, there is no problem."

When Haaland got off the back door of the team's hotel on Sunday, the bus's luggage door suddenly opened and hit him in the face. Haaland then revealed on social media that three stitches were sewn in his wound.
